Sunline and laminitis

The mighty racehorse mare Sunline was humanley destroyed because of incurable laminitis.  Laminitis can be caused by overfeeding with diets high in NSC (>12%). Conversely, laminitis can in most cases be avoided by feeding low NSC feeds (<12%).  Cocnout oil contained in CoolStance copra and PowerStance supplies MCT, which because of the anti microbial actions are thought to maintain gut health, and reduce the effects of NSC diets on laminitis.
